I know quite a few of you have been eagerly awaiting my next book release, and I apologize that it's been so long since my last novel. Those who have been following me on Patreon are already aware that I plan to release no fewer than two titles in 2018.
I am pleased to announce the first of these titles: Vengeance For My Valentine.
Vengeance may seem to have just come from nowhere, but it is actually my first completed novel. I penned the earliest treatments and drafts in high school, but the novel's first draft wasn't completed until late 2006. I shopped the novel around, but I didn't get any bites from publishers or agents, and no wonder.
The book sucked!
So the manuscript sat in a drawer for the next twelve years, and every once in a while, I would do some edits here, a few rewrites there, and change the title. This book has gone by several names including The Blood Raven, Believe In Angels, and Retribution to name a few. For a time, I had even considered splitting the book into two novellas, but in the end decided it would be best to keep them together.
In the final months of 2017, I decided to take the manuscript out of the drawer one last time, determined not to let my earliest work die a lonely death. While still working on my other Patreon projects The Weller: Fear of the Dark and Tooth & Nail, I started taking a red pen to the manuscript, cutting nearly 4,000 words and adding back about 3,000 more before I was finally satisfied.
And thus, Vengeance For My Valentine was born from The Blood Raven's ashes.
So what is Vengeance For My Valentine about?
I'm glad you asked. Here's a brief synopsis:
When his fiancée is brutally murdered on Valentine's Day, Ash Corvus is plunged into the nightmarish world of the Arpadeem, or as the movies call them...
Ash must become a monster himself if he hopes to bring vengeance upon the undead monster who murdered his love... the man with the scar.
That's right... vampires. A bit different from what my readers are used to, but this book has taken me back to my roots in horror and urban fantasy.
